The authors of this chapter were born and raised in Israel, a country in which due to the holocaust and the fact it was a young nation, was not accustomed to elderly patients. But, in the last decade the percentage of patients older than 65 has crossed the 10% mark of the entire population and we were forced to learn and to find ways to care and treat older patients. Though its clinical efficacy and safety is well established in non pregnant patients but its safety has not been well studied in the pregnant woman. Due to its inherent risk to both mother and fetus it should be performed during pregnancy only when there is no other better way available to diagnose or treat the gastrointestinal disorder.
